Meet Julie.
With a career rooted in behavioral science and human-centered research, strategy, and design, Julie has built and scaled multimillion-dollar partnerships across tech, fintech, and e-commerce sectors. She leads complex international research initiatives from scoping to execution, with a focus on inclusive design, cultural nuance, and business impact. As Managing Partner at Segment International, she shapes the firm’s vision for delivering culturally attuned, accessibility-informed research that blends human understanding with strategic clarity.
Julie holds a PhD in Psychoanalysis and French from Royal Holloway, University of London, along with graduate degrees in Clinical Psychotherapy and International Cultural Studies. This interdisciplinary foundation—spanning behavioral science, psychotherapy, and cultural theory—deeply informs her approach to research, allowing her to navigate identity, motivation, and context with both rigor and empathy.
A dual U.S./U.K. citizen, Julie has lived and worked in the UK and France and now leads global research engagements across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Her leadership has helped Segment deepen its international reach and evolve its methodologies through the integration of AI, behavioral insight, and emerging technologies into research design, business development, and go-to-market strategy.
Beyond her client work, Julie has served on nonprofit boards advocating for inclusive research and accessibility. She is a published author (Routledge, 2015) and a frequent contributor to the broader research and user experience fields.
Julie is known for mentoring global teams, fostering long-term client relationships, and helping organizations make confident, insight-driven decisions. She brings an empathetic, strategic lens to every engagement—blending commercial focus with deep respect for culture, community, and the psychology behind human behavior.
She lives in San Diego with her husband and two Golden Retrievers, and spends her free time skiing, scuba diving, and traveling to explore new cultures firsthand.
