Meet Alex.

Alex is a business development specialist with twenty years' experience opening doors and closing deals for global consultancies in categories including insights, strategy, innovation, industrial design and user experience. An expat for ten years and counting, Alex has been a business development leader all around the world: in the US, UK, China and Germany, where he is currently based in Munich.

In 2009 Alex joined the qualitative insight and brand strategy firm, Flamingo London, as New Business Director, overseeing a sales pipeline of £12M a year. He helped Flamingo launched its new Shanghai office in 2011, which is now operating independently as Inner Chapter, 2021 winner of Campaign Asia’s Agency of the Year Award for Market Research. In 2012 he was part of a three-person founder team launching and leading Flamingo’s spin-off digital agency, Kiosk, which is now also operating independently, as the award-winning ResTech platform, Field Notes, and the digital insights agency, Peek Content.



After a couple of years freelancing for the storied US product design and innovation agency, Smart Design, and helping them launch their first London office, Alex relocated to Shanghai to lead business development for the German industrial design firm, designaffairs. He then spent a year in the US as one of a three-person team to launch and lead the first designaffairs US office in Portland, Oregon. After designaffairs was acquired by Accenture and merged with Fjord, he then spent five years at Accenture Song Germany in Munich as a freelancer and fractional BD consultant.

Currently, Alex is a part-time business development team member at the industrial engineering firm Rakkoon, as well as a freelance fractional BD consultant to consultancies in the US and UK, including Segment International.
